About BVL

Blue Vinyl Lounge was formed in the late 90s by a bunch of people with back-stories in indie pop, blues, jazz, and classical - who wanted to make music for people to dance to, listen to, appreciate - just to respond the way we do when we play it.

With the wonderful Ernie Chow, now living in San Francisco, the band recorded its independent EP Invisible Girl in 1999.  Invisible Girl set all sorts of records - it was picked in the top 20 albums of 2000 by Chaosmusic.com. Then through the mp3.com phenomemon (this in the days before iTunes) it featured some of the highest downloaded acid jazz tracks worldwide, with tracks reaching number one positions on acid jazz charts and 'Blink' peaking at #85 out of over 1 million tracks on mp3.com. The CD was listed on 'Essential Acid Jazz' and still sells thru iTunes, Amazon, CDBaby and other outlets (see 'Discography').

The current line up of Emma Roberts, Andre Roberts, Mark Morand, Pete Hodges and Eric Morand has redefined the BVL sound with a bunch of new original songs and is putting it out there in Melbourne pubs.
